Happy International Day of Acceptance!

I posted earlier in the month to tell you all that the International Day of Acceptance was coming up.

Today I am rocking my wheelchair heart shirt.
Today is January 20th, so the day is here! Today I am choosing to celebrate diversity and acceptance for people with all different kinds of disabilities both visible and invisible.

The International Day of Acceptance is in memory of the late Annie Hopkins, who designed the wheelchair heart. She sparked a movement that has resonated with thousands of people whose lives have been affected by disability. Acceptance is vital both from within yourself and from the world around you.

Mini Meerkat was happy to have her own bracelet.
Mini Meerkat and I have both experienced different disabilities, but we do not let that stop us. Even though things are often hard, we are still loving life.

She was also happy that my bracelet matched.
Get out there and embrace, educate, and empower!
